Immanuel UCC Ministry Teams and Goals

Ministry Philosophy

Immanuel UCC will have transparent and open communication. Each member will be an engaged member sharing time, talents and treasure as they are able. All ministries will encourage participation from as many age groups as possible. All Immanuel UCC programs and projects will align with the ministry goals.

Christian Education and Youth Ministry: To disciple ourselves through adult education, sharing, training, and communicating; to implement an energetic children’s and youth ministry; to program for the complete family; and to bind all together with vibrant intergenerational events.

Community Outreach Ministry: To implement mission programs, both short term and ongoing, to reach out to organizations (churches, etc.) to provide, promote, and participate in community programs – all to meet the needs of and increase interaction with the community around us.

Congregational Care Ministry: To be aware of and address the cares, concerns and needs of the congregation and its members (to feed our sheep) by organizing and providing specific support as needed.

Drama Ministry: To worship, teach, share, engage and reach out to others through the use of drama.

Mind/Body Ministry: To encourage activities in consonance with Christ’s teaching that engage the mind and body to promote health and improve connectedness to the Spirit.

Media Ministry: To spread the good news of Christ and Immanuel UCC through all forms of communication.

Music Ministry: To reach members and non-members alike through the recognition and use of the best of every genre of Christian music, while being sensitive to age and ethnicity.

Prayer Ministry: To actively pray, encourage, foster, and promote prayer within the life of the church.

Staff Support Ministry: To retain, develop, and sustain stable, strong leadership in Immanuel’s staff positions and to minister to, care for, and value each staff member; to act as an interface between the staff and congregants as needed; to encourage an atmosphere of partnership among the staff and between the staff and the congregation emphasizing effective internal and external communication.

Stewardship Ministry: To be good stewards of our blessings (which include building and grounds, dollars, time and talent) by managing them with love, generosity and care; to be proactive in soliciting ideas for the management of those blessings; to make our building and grounds available for church and community activities, while maintaining a clean, safe and aesthetically pleasing environment.

United Church of Christ Ministry: To educate ourselves and the wider community about the UCC, and coordinate Immanuel UCC’s contribution to and participation in our denomination.

Worship Ministry: To provide a wide variety of meaningful worship experiences and to maintain this sacred space.
