SMS POLICY AND TERMS OF SERVICE
This policy applies only to SMS messaging from ten-digit long code (10DLC) phone numbers (“SMS”) registered to Common Services Corporation of the United Church of Christ.
How UCC uses SMS Messaging
UCC uses SMS messaging for employees to communicate with one another and with external relationship partners when they give consent. No mobile opt-in or text message consent will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. SMS is not used for soliciting donations, sending automated notices or reminders, or for promotional purposes. Information obtained via SMS is not collected or used for any purpose other than the communication for which the SMS was sent and to maintain consent records.
Terms of Service
All recipients of SMS must consent to receive SMS messages. A recipient gives consent when they send an SMS. When a recipient sends an SMS, they receive an SMS that states the following: Thank you for opting into SMS messaging from United Church of Christ National Ministries. Messaging frequency and rates may vary. To opt out, text STOP. For assistance, text HELP.
When a recipient texts HELP, they receive an SMS that states the following: For help, visit the United Church of Christ National Ministries at ucc.org/privacy-policy or call 216-736-2100.
Recipients may revoke consent and opt out of receiving future messages by texting STOP. When a recipient texts STOP, they receive an SMS that states the following: You have opted out of SMS messaging from United Church of Christ National Ministries. No additional text messages will be sent. To opt back in, send an SMS.
External relationship partner recipients who opt into SMS can expect to receive SMS messages that directly respond to their inquiries and non-automated messages about matters of mutual interest. Employees who opt into SMS can use SMS to communicate directly with other employees about work matters and can expect to receive SMS communications about work matters.
Messaging frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Recipients may opt out at any time by texting STOP. Recipients can access assistance by visiting our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, or by calling 216-736-2100.
